Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder-Ebony & Ivory [1982]

Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder-Ebony & Ivory [1982]

"Ebony and Ivory" is a 1982 #1 hit, spending 7 weeks at that position, written by Paul McCartney, performed with Stevie Wonder. Maybe the most popular racial harmony themed duet ever. It can be found on many 80's compilation cds & on Paul McCartney's 1982 album, Tug of War.

Friends of Distinction-Going in Circles [1969]

Friends of Distinction-Going in Circles [1969]

Off their 1969 album, "Grazin", here's a classic R&B ballad that went up as high as #15 on the pop charts and remaining on the charts for 19 weeks. I couldn't find any video of the original group singing this but I got the next best thing. The late, great Mr. Luther Vandross did a cover of this song on his 1994 album songs, "Songs", which earned him 4 Grammy nominations.

Jay Williams-Sweat [1990]

Jay Williams - Sweat [1990]

As far as I know, this is his only song. A deep house track from 1990 that filled dance floors every where you went. It was produced by Nelson "Paradise" Roman. I couldn't find a video but someone posted the audio on youtube.

Whitney Houston& George Michael-If I told you that [2000]

This is off her "Whitney:The Greatest Hits" cd back in 2000. She sang this solo on her 10 times platinum album, "My Love is you Love" in 1998. It was produced by then producer of the moment Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. George is one of my all-time favorite singers as Whitney is as well, and I thought this was an excellent duet.

This is a great song by two great performers - Didn't know you were a George Michael fan! Saw him in concert last year was a fantastic show - Shame about his recreational drug habits but well we all need ways to relax!

I enjoy the music of both of these artists. I hope Whitney can overcome that monkey on her back & George? It hasn't hit him like it has Whitney. But I always wonder that why do people who have the world in the palm of their hand are always out there doing stupid shit. :confused::confused:

Ralphi Rosario & Xavier Gold-You used to hold me [1987]

Ralphi Rosario & Xavier Gold-You used to hold me [1987]

Classic club anthem from house pioneer, Mr. Ralphi Rosario and fellow DJ Xaviera Gold. She dropped the a off her first name {no clue as to why} and tried her luck as an artist. This is her 1st of two #1 dance classics. Here is an ultra rare video of one of her live performances. A must have for the house collectionist.

Heatwave-Always & Forever [Live-1977]

Heatwave-Always & Forever [1977]

International funk band whose original line-up consisted of 2 americans, 2 from the UK, a spaniard and a czech. The most noticeable member of the group was Rod Temperton, who went on to make music for many artists, including for Michael Jackson. {Off the Wall, Thriller}
Here's one of the best slow jams of all-time. You know how sometimes you're in a relationship and there may be a song that both of you connect with and you identify that song as "our song"? I think I had that connection with this song with about 4 different partners. A timeless track, voiced by original founding member, Johnny Wilder Jr, who two years later would be in a car accident that would leave him paralyzed from the neck down. Even the young crowd can appreciate this one.
