The first option is applicable with regards the malicious spammer. He always uses random groups of letters for his name that do not form actual words. The moment I see anything akin to that in the new posts section I check and OTB as appropriate.
He went down to one or two posts a session a few times a day for a while and I'd hoped he was getting bored but over the last few days it has been six or seven posts a dozen and more times a day.
Believe me when I tell you this is pissing me off.
The second is a cash whore poster using Adfly shortners to get to Picleet. We have already established that censoring those links does nothing and I continue to OTB and replicate his images in the warning post so that eventually he'll run out of things to put up. I expect once he realises he's making no cash here he'll piss off.
The first one is the real problem. This is a vendetta. He clearly has no life and it's just going to go on until we find a way to prevent these messages from ever reaching the public forum. It's that simple.
Right now I can spot who he is just by looking at the list because he hasn't figured his name is a giveaway. How long before he realises that if we put new members in a holding pen and changes to use real words as his name? All we'll have done is create a layer of work for us for nothing.
The only realistic option is the ability to moderate new users posts so they don't see the public forum till we have checked them. If this tool sees his posts have no chance of making it onto the board he should
piss off.
Whatever we do we have to do soon. This situation is sucking the joy out of this forum and turning me into an angry little man.
