That's fair mate, most of us do....If you'd watched "You're on Sky Sports" or listened to any radio phone in show you'd have thought we were fighting against relegation to the conference after the Newcastle defeat on Sunday, but the same folk were phoning in last night talking about us being this years euro cup winners.....Our fans are worse (well, nearly!) than Tottenhams lot for being fickle. However, what I said last night about the cream of the crop was very much tongue in cheek mate....I know we're a long way from challenging for our own title nevermind the european cup. But, if we could get the kind of performance we showed last night a bit more often, those bluenoses wouldn't be sneering at us from 4th place! :twisted: and we wouldn't be nearly 30 points behind the leaders (again!).

Every team lately it could be argued have bought success, Blackburn, Man Utd, Arsenal and now Chelsea- with the exception of Liverpool-they cannot even do that.

Shitty start or not united have under-performed for the last two years and Fergie continues to prat-about, so no success in the foreseeable future then.

'Lately' is not the 70's and 80's. The premier league has made a marked difference between teams , before the premiership a promoted team had a more than reasonable chance of competing, whereas now their sole hope is to survive a season and not lose the money. Of course every team that is wealthier than the others is more likely to be successful, that is plainly obvious, but my point was that Liverpool have spent the same kind of money as those who have won the major trophies, as has Newcastle and look at them also.

I'd like to know the perecentage of promoted teams that get relegated the season after... Not many are succesful in staying up which is a pity and does telll me that there's a widening gap between the rich clubs and the poor one's...

You have my sympathy. It was like that for the Reds in the 90s so I know the feeling. On a brighter note (for Red fans) Liverpool v Chelsea in the semis which means at least one Premiereship team in the Finals.
